ESTIMATE VS. CONSULTATION
What Values Knowledge
Years ago the green industry was much more simple. Fewer new plants
were being imported and the trade was therefore using older more tried
and true varieties. Therefore we had few imported insects and disease
to worry about, that meant controls were more consistent. Also there
were fewer environmental issues or concerns for us to be working with.
Problems from construction activities were not considered. As we all
know we live in a more complex world today.
Hence The Term "Consultation"
Consultation can be simple and quick "the plant is dead or almost dead
and cannot be saved", or it can entail a degree of knowledge. The issue,
whether it will be trees, shrubs or lawns there can be much to decipher.
The Difference Between a Free Estimate and Consultation?
A free estimate arises when a person says, "How much will it cost to
prune or remove this tree, or how much will it cost to prune these
plants?"
You know what you want - You just want a cost factor to consider it.
On the other hand, many times there are issues other than that which
you don't understand and feel you need important information about,
this breaks away from the traditional "free estimate" to a "pay as you go"
consultation.
After all, knowledge does not come easy! Once you become our client,
any consultation becomes part of the service.
